Google Home Max is dead, Google shuts down manufacturing

The biggest smart Google speaker, Google Home Max, is gone. “The speaker is classified on store.google.com as “sold out and the company told Android Police, “We have sold out of Google Home Max and the product will no longer be produced.” If you wanted the 12-pound mega speaker from Google, now is probably your last chance to scrounge around on the Internet searching for the last bits of stock. Verizon also has several at the time of publishing.

The Google Home Max, alongside the Google Home Mini, was launched in 2017. The Max was a whopping $400, and it was the only Google speaker with a 3.5mm aux input in addition to the larger, better volume. It also had a strange USB-C port on the back that could only ever be used for a wired Ethernet dongle instead of connecting via Wi-Fi, as far as I can tell.
